The doctor who was identified simply as “Carbon” gave up the
ghost after drinking several cans of an unnamed alcoholic drink.
The incident occurred at a popular drinking spot
after the deceased took up the challenge to drink a certain amount of
the drink.
Leadership reports:
Speaking with LEADERSHIP, a witness said the deceased
had gone to work and at the close of work, decided to relax at the
drinking spot close to his clinic in in the company of one of his
friends said to be a police officer, before the incident.
The witness said while the deceased was engaged in discussion
with his friend, an argument was said to have ensued about whether or
not it is possible for a person to drink five cans of the liquid at one
sitting and the late Carbon was said to have boasted of his ability to
perform the feat, leading his friend to place a bet of N10,000 and
challenged him to do it.
The deceased was said to have gulped down five of the 35cl cans
of the alcoholic beverage within a few minutes after which he collected
the money.
Events were however said to have taken a dramatic turn as few
minutes later, the late Carbon became unconscious after complaining of
severe abdominal pain and requested for assistance from people drinking
in the joint.
He was said to have been taken to a nearby hospital but gave up the ghost before medical assistance could be given to him.
